Happy May Day, everyone! May the first is a very special day for our family, because it's Eli's birthday! Woo hoo! He turns 15 today, y'all. I can't believe how fast the years have flown by! It just seems like yesterday he was a little five year old with all his front teeth missing, riding around the yard on his John Deere Gator on a "photo safari" with his Fisher Price digital camera. Sigh...
So I am all up in my feels today, y'all.
And speaking of May and being all up in your feels, I have the sweetest 2017 wedding to share with you!
Last May 27th, we had the huge blessing to be a part of Carley and Clint's happy day. I knew the morning would be full of big feels for Carley and her family, because she spent the those hours getting ready at home. When a bride gets ready within the same walls that watched her grow up, there's always a little extra emotion in the day for everyone! Especially when there are photos of baby Carley on the walls, and her christening gown and her wedding gown are on display together! I'm a momma, so I knew exactly how Mrs. Robertson was feeling that day as she watched her beautiful daughter become a beautiful bride!
Carley and Clint chose the Hewlett Barn and Stables near Starkville, MS as their wedding and reception venue. Jonathan and I like to call the Hewlett Barn "our backyard" because we spend so many wedding days there! We love this venue for many reasons. It has a beautiful interior space, a lovely deep back porch, and a beautiful lawn overlooking the lake for outdoor weddings. And if you've followed us on social media for a while, you already know it has the most gorgeous old oak tree for those romantic golden hour moments! I loved how Carley and her wedding team made the Hewlett Barn into her dream venue by adding delicate, romantic touches of sweet pink and white florals, soft ribbons and fabrics, and rose gold, blush, and navy accents.
One of the most personal and special elements of their ceremony decor were the arbor and cross pictured below - Clint is a skilled woodworker, and he built them just for their wedding day!
Carley and Clint's main goals for their wedding day was that it not be stressful, and that it would be FUN. Y'all, they SMASHED those goals! It was such a peaceful, relaxed, JOYFUL day! Not only did these two surround themselves with an amazing wedding team, their families & friends supported them every step of the way. We are so thankful that we were a part of these high school sweethearts' beautiful wedding journey, and I can't believe it's already almost time for their first anniversary!! Congratulations and best wishes for a lifetime of joy, Carley and Clint!
